Most API670 protection systems in use are configured to provide a very simple function: shoot overall vibration level, the axial position or bearing temperature. Although this function is simple, the required configuration of the monitoring systems is often quite the opposite, of enormous complexity. A user can find a dozen or more settings to configure alarms for each channel, which requires a bewildering array of configuration options. In fact, they may have abandoned due to the complexity of configuration and maintenance of the system, so you have to go to a service contract with the manufacturer of the instrumentation as the only viable alternative to ensure that systems protection and supervision are indeed effective.
